Hurricane Kyle hit the Northeastern U.S. on Sunday causing floods and wind damage throughout the region. The storm, also known as a Nor’easter, has since been downgraded to a Tropical Storm.
“The 2008 hurricane season has already produced 5 named storms, two hurricanes, and one major hurricane. Therefore, for the remainder of the season (August 7th through November 30th), we expect (67% chance) an additional 9-13 Named Storms, 5-8 Hurricanes, and 2-5 Major Hurricanes,” the National Weather Service Climate Prediction Center reports.
